Water Rights and Water Rights Opposition

The Catamount Metropolitan District owns senior irrigation and reservoir water rights in the high mountain valley of the Yampa River. BBA helps the Metro District document and account for their use of these valuable water right assets to maximize their beneficial use and preserve their value. When new water right plans are proposed that could affect the Metro District’s water rights, BBA is involved to negotiate terms and conditions that protect the Metro District, without standing in the way of their neighbors’ plans. BBA has developed an intimate knowledge of the hydrology, history and administration of the Upper Yampa Valley, which brings a beneficial holistic perspective to work performed.
