Water Rights and Water Supply

BBA provides on-going assistance to working ranches, including a 16,000-acre working cattle ranch in the San Juan Mountains, with water rights planning and technical support for court filings, water right management, and water supply operations. BBA provided engineering and water rights consulting to develop a plan for augmentation to support the ranch’s potable water uses. BBA evaluated the water rights needed to support the level of potable water use planned at the ranch and provided the technical support for the water right application and adjudication process. The overall potable water planning process included the evaluation of the ranch demands and depletions, and then an analysis of the water rights needed to support the uninterrupted use of the water supply. BBA prepared a plan for augmentation to support the ranch’s potable water supply uses and worked closely with the camp’s water attorneys to obtain a decree from Water Court and provides on-going assistance with water right diligence, water court filings, ditch diversion record-keeping, and mapping services.
