Water Supply Planning and Water Rights

BBA worked for a number of West Slope entities in providing technical water rights support in the negotiations for the Colorado River Cooperative Agreement (CRCA). The CRCA was an agreement between Denver Water and 17 West Slope entities, which resolved longstanding disputes regarding Denver Water’s operations on the West Slope. After the agreement was signed, BBA was jointly selected by Denver Water and certain West Slope parties to provide water rights engineering support in obtaining the water court decree for the water rights, which were required to satisfy the CRCA. BBA’s technical expertise, which was highly regarded by the parties on both sides of the CRCA negotiations, was instrumental in assisting Denver Water in obtaining a final decree for the water rights without a trial.
