Water Supply Development

BBA has worked for the Battle Mountain Project developers and with the Project’s other consultants to assist with development of an augmentation plan, which includes new and existing water rights. The Project is a proposed resort community near the Town of Minturn, which will feature trophy homes with golfing and skiing amenities. The Project is expected to require an annual water demand of approximately 2,000 acre-feet.

BBA prepared an engineering report to support the junior water rights filings, which included a streamflow availability analysis. This analysis was used as the basis for developing a water operations model, which will be used to support the augmentation plan. The model incorporates new and existing diversions and pumpbacks, storage options, projected demands and return flows, and river calls. The model will also be used to determine the Project’s storage requirement and aid in water quality analyses.
